High school (in San Diego) I ran a 16:40 5k and a 4:33 mile. Have run 11 marathons.
PR - Ogden 2009 - 2:55:10
Haven't done a 5k or 10k or half in a long time. I just enjoy doing my regular daily runs and then hittin' the Marathons. I might slip in some shorter/faster races this year.
Short-Term Running Goals:
Drop some more weight (get down to 150), keep Pr'ing, and try to stay injury free. Get a 2:46:42 or better in a marathon - I wanna beat Lance's PR!!
Get out on more trails around the valley and enjoy the scenery.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Focus on marathons and possibly ultras? Keep healthy and lean.
10 Miles on trail. Wanted to go slower, but felt easy. 7:18/mile average.
Saucony II Miles: 10.00
Night Sleep Time: 0.00
Nap Time: 0.00
Total Sleep Time: 0.00

So Matt, are you ready for the taper? Yeah, we need to figure a time to meet and then we can hang for a while before the race. The drop off busses are on the way towards the starting line, but wouldn't be to far out of the way and since they are numbered by bib #s might be the easiest way to have a specific place to meet. After my 1/2 yesterday, that I didn't run all out, I'm feeling more confident about the sub 3 thing. I think I will try and run the first half right at 1:30 and hopefully still have a lot left to get up those Newton Hills.

Sounds good. I think it would be nice to talk before/run for a little while, but it probably wouldn't make too much sense to try to stick with each other for much of the race (due to how awesome you're running, and because of all the people in the race). I think 1:30 is definitely going out too fast for me, but should be very manageable for you. Hey, how's the humidity out there this time of year? Did you notice a difference at all/affect you at all?

Last year the humidity really got to me and I did not stay hydrated enough. The sun was out and it was in the upper 60s, but the humidity killed me. The year before were were running in a terrible winter storm and I only took my coat off for about a mile in the middle of the race and then quickly put it back on. Hopefully we get something in between the two this year.
