Running Accomplishments:

High school (in San Diego) I ran a 16:40 5k and a 4:33 mile.  Have run 11 marathons.

PR - Ogden 2009 - 2:55:10

Haven't done a 5k or 10k or half in a long time.  I just enjoy doing my regular daily runs and then hittin' the Marathons.  I might slip in some shorter/faster races this year.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Drop some more weight (get down to 150),  keep Pr'ing, and try to stay injury free.  Get a 2:46:42 or better in a marathon - I wanna beat Lance's PR!!

Get out on more trails around the valley and enjoy the scenery.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Focus on marathons and possibly ultras? Keep healthy and lean.

Personal:

Married with 2.95 girls.

9.40 miles. 1:16:18 (8:07/mile).  Started off feeling pretty tired/lazy as usual.  Started off with a few miles on the trail and contemplated not running on the trail today (I knew somebody was going to be doing a speed workout and I didn't think I was up for it).  After 3 miles Sasha and Michelle passed me at a good pace.  after about 50m I decided I'd better turn around and join in.  I kept an equal distance behind them for the rest of that mile (about .8 for me at about 5:46 pace).  we then did 3 more repeats with 400m rest.  5:46 for the middle two and 5:42 for the last mile.  Felt good.  Wanted to push it at the end of the last one and started dry-heaving with about 100m to go.  Luckily I didn't have anything in me.

Don't you think the shape you're in indicates that a sub-3:00 marathon should be a short term goal? You made the workout look easy!

If you want to join next Tuesday, I plan on doing 1/2 mile repeats in SF so long my legs feel ok. Probably 2:45's.

I would like to do some more workouts; I think we would push each other well. I'm actually going to be leaving for San Diego tomorrow and won't be back until 7/7, but we should definately do some when I get back.

As far as the goal. I'm hoping to do Sub 3:00 by St. George. I'm focusing on giving a good effort on Deseret news for sub 3:11 for BQ. For some reason my faster, shorter distances aren't exactly translating over to the longer distances of the marathon (or even 10 miles. . . I couldn't run a 60:13!!). I'm still trying to get my aerobic fitness up and running well. I'm hoping I'll be sub 3 though in the near future.
