Running Accomplishments:

High school (in San Diego) I ran a 16:40 5k and a 4:33 mile.  Have run 11 marathons.

PR - Ogden 2009 - 2:55:10

Haven't done a 5k or 10k or half in a long time.  I just enjoy doing my regular daily runs and then hittin' the Marathons.  I might slip in some shorter/faster races this year.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Drop some more weight (get down to 150),  keep Pr'ing, and try to stay injury free.  Get a 2:46:42 or better in a marathon - I wanna beat Lance's PR!!

Get out on more trails around the valley and enjoy the scenery.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Focus on marathons and possibly ultras? Keep healthy and lean.

Personal:

Married with 2.95 girls.

20 Miles. 2:33:19. 7:36/Mile. Ran Provo canyon with Josse, Michelle, Adam, James, Merri & Tammy (not positive on the last two; I warned them that I'd forget their names, and I kept my promise). I used Adam's entry as a cheat sheet, so I hope he's right. Ran with Jeff and Mark from Lehi as well. They are new to the blog. So we had a pretty decent crew for a while until we eventually broke up into groups. Pretty steady all the up close to the dam, then Adam and Michelle took off for a tempo run down. Didn't really want to go faster as I'm still in recovery from Des. News, but I needed to get back fashionably late (vs. really late) to meet my wife and the girls in the parking lot so she could go on her own 8-miler. Tried to stay with them, but faded. Did a 6:25, 6:16, 6:44 and 6:37 during the stretch and then mid 7's and 8's for the rest of the way. Eventually met back up with Michelle and Adam and cruised back to the lot. Was really good to meet some more bloggers that I've read about, but never had the opportunity to meet. Played with the girls at the park while mommy ran and had a great start to the weekend!

Good run today and good to meet you. It looks like you are recovered fine from your marathon.

I believe I remember you passing me coming out of the canyon at Deseret News and you said, "nice training run?" I had a rough race there. Nice job breaking 3 hours that's my dream. I am hoping to do it at Top of Utah in September. Well, I am hoping to do 16 in to morning.

I don't remember saying "nice training run", but I'm probably liable to mumble anything at that point in the race!! I was definitely "going for it" in the race and wasn't holding anything back. I think it was after the canyon that I realized that I had a decent shot and sub 3 and I'm very happy I got it. Sounds like things didn't work out that day because you got a 3:01 at the Utah Valley!? That seemed to me like a tough course with the airport road and all. Anyhow, thanks for the comment and I'm sure you'll get it at TOU. I'll be doing it as well and I think I will actually use that one as a "training run" (I'm doing the grand slam and have to do TOU instead of park city, then have St. george 2 weeks later).

That's funny, I am in the same situation. I am doing the Grand slam and cannot participate in Park City so I did Des News and so I am wondering how to approach Logan. I really want to crack 3 hours though and I have heard logan is a good place to go after it. I feel good after Salt lake now so I figure I can do it and still be ok with St George.
