Running Accomplishments:

High school (in San Diego) I ran a 16:40 5k and a 4:33 mile.  Have run 11 marathons.

PR - Ogden 2009 - 2:55:10

Haven't done a 5k or 10k or half in a long time.  I just enjoy doing my regular daily runs and then hittin' the Marathons.  I might slip in some shorter/faster races this year.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Drop some more weight (get down to 150),  keep Pr'ing, and try to stay injury free.  Get a 2:46:42 or better in a marathon - I wanna beat Lance's PR!!

Get out on more trails around the valley and enjoy the scenery.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Focus on marathons and possibly ultras? Keep healthy and lean.

Personal:

Married with 2.95 girls.

10.75 miles. 1:20:50 (7:42/mile).  sluggish day.  tired from yesterday's workout.  Feeling a weird feeling on tendon on backside of my knee.  Wouldn't call it pain, it's just there.  My toes on my right foot are always hurting now on the last couple miles of every run.  they ache when I run normally, but if is scrunch them up in the shoe they feel better.  Everything is fine for the most part, just thought I'd find something to complain about today because it would've been a short entry if not!

I get something like that on my foot. For me, it was the stupidest thing. I found it was the plastic decorative/support pieces on the side of my shoe putting just a tiny bit of pressure on the outside of my pinky toe --where a bunion might grow. My toes would actually go numb after about 6 miles. Also, I have alleviated almost all knee/tendon pains (front and back)recently by using a rolling pin right after running (I read that in Josee's blog). I know everyone loves scraping, but I am currently in love with the 'free-ness' of a kitchen rolling pin. Use it along the IT/Quad/Hamstring (lie down and let someone do the hamstring for you). That and glucosamine have helped a lot. Take it from Grandma. It only gets worse as you get older! OK, Back to programming the Garmin.

Thanks; I could definitely do better on stretching/rolling. I get so lazy with that. I've also been doing the glucosamine and fish oil pills and think they've kept tendons and ligaments doing well despite my recent spikes in mileage.
